At Micron, we are committed to environmental and safety excellence as it relates to our activities as we pursue our mission to be a global leader in memory and storage solutions. We do this by proactively setting strategic objectives that take into consideration protection of the environment, including pollution reduction and prevention; the safety and well-being of our team members, vendors and visitors; our compliance obligations; our risks and opportunities; and the needs and expectations of our stakeholders. An integral part of our commitment is our focus on continual improvement of our Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) management systems to enhance our EHS performance.
Compliance with the law and other compliance obligations is considered a minimum EHS expectation at Micron. We look to go beyond legal compliance where appropriate to demonstrate our commitment to the environment and people.
We approach our activities and products from a lifecycle perspective. We strive to minimize the impact of our operations by reviewing the materials we bring into our manufacturing environment and incorporate into our products as well as considering their use and end of life. This attention to our supply chain allows us to evaluate opportunities to reduce environmental and safety impacts at the earliest stages of planning and design.
We believe all EHS injuries and incidents can be prevented and we collaborate with key stakeholders to attain this goal through risk evaluation and effective controls. We expect Micron Management, team members and contractors to uphold this policy and adhere to relevant Micron EHS procedures and requirements throughout our global operations, including those requirements contained in Micron’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. We back this expectation by holding our managers and supervisors responsible for conforming our operations to these standards and maintaining an environmental-friendly and injury-free workplace.
